"Style"

By Esther Lombardi, About.com

Definition:

Style is the way in which a work of literature is written. Critics may focus on diction, imagery, or rhetorical devices in a discussion of a writer's style. While each great writer has his/her own unique style, certain characteristics of the material relate to the time period or literary movement with which the work is linked.
